Bedford CC Lawyer
Does this Yob still have a job ?

Ever heard the saying "It's one rule for some and another rule for the others" ?

Andy Darkoh, Bedford CC's Lawyer attacked a reporter outside court and he still has his job and freedom.  A paltry sentence was handed out to this hooligan.  Most  others would be languishing in a prison cell for less than this.  Here is the full story :-

A council lawyer who attacked a reporter and smashed his camera has been given a conditional discharge.

St Albans Crown Court was told how Andy Darkoh left Bedfordshire on Sunday reporter Oliver Adam needing five stitches to his head after knocking him to the ground and hitting him in the face after a county court appointment.

The lawyer, who works for Bedford Borough Council, was at court on personal business, and upset that the journalist had tried to photograph him.

But Judge Findlay Baker QC said: "Taking a photograph does not amount to an invasion of privacy. It might, in certain circumstances, amount to harassment."

He passed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered payment of £200 compensation and £150 costs.

The judge told him: "I don't doubt you felt aggrieved at the treatment you had been receiving from Bedfordshire On Sunday, but that cannot excuse you damaging a camera of one of its journalists or being reckless about causing injury."

The paper was running a story about Darkoh's attempt to bring a county court action against a pub for alleged racial discrimination.  Comment - There you go, the race card is played !!!

Darkoh, of Higham Ferrers, Northants, admitted causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage.

The court was also told there was "a history" to the incident. The newspaper had previously made claims of maladministration at a local election with some votes not being counted - and council officers, including Darkoh, had lost a defamation case against Bedfordshire On Sunday over the story.  Comment - So the Council and it's lawyer screws with the election results and then uses an attack strategy to cover up.  Well, sue us Mr Darkoh and co !!

On the day of the incident, in June, the reporter contacted the Town Hall asking for comments about the private action Darkoh was taking against the pub, which the lawyer felt was an unjustified intrusion into his private affairs.

Tamala McGee, defending, said her client deeply regretted the incident. Comment - Yeah, of course he feels real bad, he just lost £400 quid and in being made to look as stupid as he really is.  How can such a raucous oaf be in such a position ?  This is not the eastern bloc !!

So, Bedford CC has been rigging elections huh ?  It's lawyer plays the race card and then shows his true colours by beating up a reporter in public.  The only colour that this man is showing here is one of red rage.

It raises the question of how credible this mans judgement is.  I am sure he was miffed that a reporter had dared to photograph him in public, but this happens all the time, and if you are going to rig election results and take out vexatious litigation on others, then you are bounds to be of interest to the news media.  We are certainly interested in you now.  Your Employers are on our list of councils to be investigated further, and this has pushed you to the top odd that list.  IF the wrong doing is this rife and malignant in Bedford, the public should know who they voted in, or in this case, maybe not !!!
